About 20 minutes from Leijay is the beautiful beach of Unawatuna.

Talpe Beach Fishing and Pole-Fishing

With its traditional fishing boats, with nets filled up, and with its pole fishing, only 15 minutes away from Leijay lies Talpe beach. You can soak in the sights and the smells, and on the way back you can bring some of the fish along which we can prepare for you along with your dinner, at leijay.

Whale and Dolphin watching in Mirissa

An early morning 30-minute ride takes you to the Mirissa Harbour from where you can catch a boat ride to watch whales and dolphins.

10 minutes away from Leijay is the old Dutch Portuguese Fort of Galle. Some of the old cobblestone streets are still there along with some flower-filled balconies. The place can get a bit too filled with tourists but it is still a pleasure to go for a walk up and down its streets every now and then. And for a walk by the old lighthouse.

From one just a few minutes walk away, a short three-wheeler ride can take you to some of the most exotic temples in all directions. Just sit quiet and soak in all the peaceful vibes.
